2022 IRWMP Project Solicitation

June 1, 2022 – The Greater Monterey County Regional Water Management Group is now accepting project proposals for the Greater Monterey County Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Plan. Both concept proposals (preliminary project ideas) and implementation projects (developed projects, with budgets) are being accepted.

To be eligible for inclusion in the IRWM Plan, projects:

  • must be located within the geographic boundaries of the Greater Monterey County IRWM Region (see Region Description on our homepage);
  • must address water resource management issues in the Greater Monterey County Region, including water supply, water quality, flood management, and/or natural resource enhancement; and
  • must be consistent with the Region’s goals and objectives.

This project solicitation is in anticipation of the Region’s Proposition 1 IRWM Implementation Grant Round 2 application. Projects must be included in an IRWM Plan in order to be eligible for State IRWM Implementation Grant funds. All implementation projects that are incorporated into the IRWM Plan via this project solicitation will be deemed eligible for IRWM grant funding, and may be considered for the Region’s Round 2 grant application. A total of $3,560,340 is available in Round 2 for Greater Monterey County IRWM implementation projects.

The Regional Water Management Group’s process for selecting projects for the Round 2 IRWM Grant application is described in the Project Review Process document below.

California Emissions Estimator Tool (CalEEMod)

California Emissions Estimator Tool (CalEEMod) is a statewide land use emissions computer model designed to provide a uniform platform for government agencies, land use planners, and environmental professionals to quantify potential criteria pollutant and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with both construction and operations from a variety of land use projects. The model quantifies direct emissions from construction and operations (including vehicle use), as well as indirect emissions, such as GHG emissions from energy use, solid waste disposal, vegetation planting and/or removal, and water use. The CalEEMod tool can be downloaded for free at: www.caleemod.com. The following documents provide guidance and assistance for using the tool.
